Born as Sascha Corwin, she grew up traveling around America and has described her parents as both hippies and gypsies.
Her parents sent her to The American School of Paris, in her teenage years, and she has said that it was attending this school that gave her a love of French culture. As a result, she speaks French fluently and holidays in France whenever possible.

Although she enjoyed acting and planned to pursue it more readily, she instead decided to focus more on her family.
