Urmila Dhangar is a popular Marathi singer. She was raised in a small chaal in Ulhasnagar and later shifted to Badlapur, both small towns near Mumbai. Urmila has two brothers.
She got married to her husband, Nishan, in April 2015. The couple has a young daughter, Alankrita, born in 2018.
For her education, she has an M.A in Literature.
Her lessons in classical singing started in 2003 with Pandit Achyut Joshi and took 4yrs to become Sangit Visharad. She also participated at the school level in a few competitions.

Dhangar has a husky voice and her perfect rendition of lavanis & folk songs helped her win the SareGaMa competition and become “Maharashtra’s Mahagayika” in 2010.
She has made her mark on Bollywood as well – Her song Mala Jau De in the 2012 movie Ferrari Ki Savari was very popular. Later, Gulabachi Kali from Tu Hi Re was also very popular.
To date, she has over 125 songs to her name.
She also has produced a few solo albums – Gandh Maticha with lyrics from N.D. Mahanor. Her height is 5 feet 2 inches.

I witnessed live her “Historic mesmerizing” rendition of (Kalidaar kapuri paan…( कळीदार कपूरी पान…) during Sa Re Ga Ma on Zee Marathi in 2010 (where she went on2win as Mahagayika, spontaneously applauded by many artists, judges & all! Yesterday night I re-lived it on You tube. don’t know what she is doing now, hence this query. She appears not 2b in news, circulation like her other counterparts:Vaishali Made, All Little Champs etc. Wishing her best in life & music.
