Formula One and cricket specialist, Rachel Brookes is an English reporter and presenter for SKY Sports. Widely experienced, she is also a broadcast journalist for television, radio, and online programming.

Brookes was born and brought up in England. Though the year is not known, she was born on August 21. She has loved many sports in her life, in particular, auto racing.
She also enjoyed cricket, having played it some while in school. Brookes went to the University of Birmingham, located in Birmingham, England. She graduated with a degree in Media and Communications.
Parents : Rachel’s father was a former race car driver, setting endurance records, and her two older brothers have also raced. A brother of hers started racing in the Polo Super Coupe Cup, followed by both her brothers doing Radical Racing together and the young Rachel used to follow them around.

Brookes’ first professional gig was as a freelance presenter for the radio station KISS sometime in the late ‘90s. She had secured this job by competing and winning a DJ competition organised by the station.

From 2001 until 2005, she worked for stations like Rock FM and Power FM. First, she was hired by Rock FM radio station in Preston. She hosted the Late Show on the radio, the success of which helped her land a co-host role on the Power FM’s Breakfast show. The show over the years came to be popularly known as “Rick and Rachel” on Power FM. The show was also the leading commercial radio breakfast show in the TSA for five years.
Rachel’s childhood passion for sports landed her the opportunity to anchor on talkSPORT TV in 2006. Later, she was also offered the opportunity to host The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT as a sports newsreader. There, she worked on several sporting events, but mainly cricket ones.
In December 2007, Brookes went on to be a presenter on Independent Television News until 2009.

From 2009 until 2011, Rachel worked as a freelance reporter, working often for organisations like IMG company, Now Sports (Hong Kong), talkSport, and Sky Television. In this period, she interviewed many football managers and players. In 2010, she became the Football World Cup correspondent for Bloomberg News.
Near the end of 2011, Brookes achieved her childhood dream of working to report on (and from) Formula 1 races and cricket matches. She now exclusively works at Sky Sports as a broadcast journalist. She mainly presents F1 races and cricket games. She’s able to talk with the racers and managers, some of which she watched as a young kid. Currently, she still holds this position, and it seems she would be unwilling to relinquish it soon.
Apart from her career as a sports presenter, Brookes has hosted several award ceremonies & niche events.
