MPSC Books

MPSC is the exam for civil services in Maharashtra. As of 2016, the exam format is as follows :

  • MPSC Preliminary Exam
  • MPSC Main Exam
  • Interview Round

MPSC Preliminary Exam Pattern for 2016

It consists of 2 papers and the duration of both the papers is 2 hours. Participants can get MPSC Preliminary Exam Pattern 2016 from the below table:

For the preliminary and the main exams, the following books are recommended. For the prelims, first complete the NCERT and Maharashtra Board textbooks, and then proceed to the other books. Before going for any book, the Portion and syllabus must be read thoroughly

Paper 1 – History and Geography :

  • Maharashtra State Board textbooks of 6th, 7th, 8th, 11th

  • India’s Freedom Strugle – Bipan Chandra (Also called Adhoonik Bharat in marathi)

  • 5th to 12th standard – NCERT textbooks
  • 5th to 10th standard – Maharashtra State Board Textbooks
  • भूगोल आणि पर्यावरण book written by Savdi

Paper 2 -Political Science [राज्य व्यवस्था]

  • 11th, 12th class Standard – NCERT Textbooks
  • 11th, 12th class standard – Maharashtra State Board textbooks

Paper 3 – Human Right & Economics
