Kashyap was born in Mumbai. He grew up in the Sion area of Mumbai and attended the famous King George English School at Dadar. After his family shifted to Navi Mumbai, Kashyap went to the IES School there. Since school times, it was his mother who encouraged the young Kashyap into cultural activities.

His first big break on Television came with Mahesh Kothare’s serial Mann Udhan Varyache on Star Pravah.
