- At the age of 21, Sameer got married to hise wife, Aparna, who is a Cinematographer by profession.

- Sameer was working as a hydraulic machine designer and worked in theatre in Pune.
- He left the job and moved to Mumbai, and started doing ramp walk like a model to fashion designer.
- He worked in many advertisements like Vimal Suitings, De Beers, LifeBuoy Soap, ICICI Bank, Nescafe and was a brand ambassador for Raymond Suitings. He represented over 175 brands across India.
- In 1999, He made his debut on big screen with Marathi movie Nirmala Machindra Kamble.
