- She attended the Michigan State University, from where she studied Broadcast Journalism.
- Beth was married to the late sportscaster Fred Mcleod. They met each other while working at CBS and were married for 28 years (the couple celebrated 25 years of marriage in 2016).
- Fred (who passed away in September 2019 due to a heart-attack) was a Play-by-Play announcer for the Cleveland Cavaliers, working for Fox Sports. He was with the Pistons & an NBC affiliate in Detroit prior to his move to Cleveland.
