Introduction :
One of the prettiest weather forecasters on the old rumbling BBC network was none other than Holly Green! She quit the BBC, after working at their affiliate – BBC Weather Centre for quite a few years.
Personal Life : Parents, Family and Education
- Holly was born and brought up in the city of Plymouth in England.
- After completing her elementary & high school studies, she joined the Cardiff University, located in Wales. It is one of the most prestigious universities in the world and was established way back in 1883.
- At Cardiff, she pursued a degree in mathematics & was heavily involved in extra-curricular activities. She used to present on the student radio, which acted as the main spark behind her interest in being a media presenter.
- After her under-graduation, she went on to pursue her post-graduation from Reading University, where her discipline was “Masters of Science in Meteorology.”
TV Career, Job, Salary and Net Worth :
- After graduation, Holly got her first professional break at the Met Office where she spent almost year training as a weather forecaster.
- She then switched fields to work with the RAF (Royal Air Force) in Coningsby, Lincolnshire.
- Holly’s major responsibilities were providing detailed weather forecasts & daily briefings to the pilots of the “Euro-fighter Typhoons” & the classic World War 2 aeroplanes of the “Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.” The amount of pressure here was at the peak because of the possibility of real-life & death.
- In the meanwhile, she was offered employment by the BBC Weather Centre to which she said yes. There, she worked the first 2 years as a Duty Weather Manager alongside the national anchors & presenters.
- By the time she entered 3rd year of service with BBC, i.e. August of 2016, Holly applied for a job at BBC Spotlight. Not to mention, she got the job and became part of the new team.
- On 15th September 2017, news popped up stating that she had resigned with immediate notice from all shows of BBC Spotlight. The reasons have yet not been made public.
- In October 2017, she went on to join the team of the ITV Meridian network.
Interesting Facts, Height and Trivia :
- Holly loves to travel and has an affinity towards taking pictures of clouds.
- She once had to learn surfing for presenting the weather in one of the special segments on BBC.
- She joined BBC Spotlight in order to expand her horizons. She said, “Given my interest in meteorology and media, this is my dream job, and it’s great to be part of such a friendly and happy team.”
- With blonde hair, she has dark black-brown eyes and is of white ethnicity. Also, she has a slender countenance.
Does Holly Green wear a wig?
I do agree with the comments about the lovely Holly, though unavailable to be introduced for a whole number of reasons as mentioned above. I would be fascinated to be reminded of the full technical term that Holly mentioned a couple of nights ago for Storm Eunice. Her layperson’s word was a Storm Jet but, as I recall, the full term is “Explosive ———-Depression”, exactly aligned with the flow of a jet stream(?).
Sorry to talk shop, Holly, and on a Sunday! However, I would welcome some guidance on the missing word, channelled through the ‘ITV Weather’ Service, if necessary? Yes, congratulations to her and her husband on their forthcoming baby.
