  • Lauren was born on 2nd December 1987 in Sale, Greater Manchester.
  • She completed her schooling locally, from Sale.
  • After her graduation in 2010, she studied further by completing a Masters in Broadcast Journalism, at the Leeds Trinity University, Leeds, UK.
  • She then got a job at SKY, in the inaugural role of broadcast journalist.

  • Lauren then moved to the BBC, with a similar role to the one she had at SKY. This is when her career blossomed.
  • Layfield’s job responsibitlities changed, from those of broadcast journalist, to those of on-ground reporter at League One football games, then finally in-studio presenter.
  • In 2014, Lauren made appearances as presenter in comedy review show, Whoops I missed the Bus.
  • In 2015, she was transferred to Children’s BBC (CBBC). Here, she got the opportunity to join Mark Wright as co-host on highly popular show The Dengineers. Along with Mark Wright, she built dream dens for children- with the guidance of experts. To date, the show is still running.
