Meher Bukhari was born on 18th April, 1983, in Lahore, Pakistan.
After being raised in Pakistan, she went to Canada in order to complete her higher education, but she later returned to work on her professional career in Pakistan.
In 2011, she married Kashif Abbasi, a senior anchor of ARY News Channel, with whom she has a daughter: Khadija Zahra Abbasi.

In June 2012, she was allegedly exposed by a leaked video conducting a “planted show” for manipulation of public opinion in the favor of Malik Riaz, a real estate tycoon. This show created disputes in Dunya News and the media industry in general. This also caught the attention of the supreme judiciary of the country, which ordered an inquiry of the program. Dunya News management soon suspended the co-host of the program.
Bukhari has in several occasions tried to explain the scandal in Dunya News, but unfortunately, with little success – she lost a majority of her viewers were surprised & angered to watch the off-air conversations on talk shows.
