Erica was born on January 30, 1975, in Shaker Heights, Ohio.
She is the only girl in the family and has an older brother named Joshua.
Both her parents, Nancy and Howard Levy, were known in the community for being actively involved in their kids’ lives, both socially and in school.

Erica’s father, Howard, worked as a lawyer for most of his life and practiced both criminal and estate law. She has said that she grew up watching him work for everything they had and that subsequently instilled a strong work ethic in her.
She also described herself as a complete daddy’s girl and was devastated when he passed away from prostate cancer in 2007.

Erica met Geraldo Rivera while producing for his ‘Rivera Live’ show.
Despite him being 32 years older than her, Erica was attracted to Geraldo after only knowing him for a short period of time & it was mostly due to his sense of humor. She also said she liked how comfortable he made her feel.

Geraldo had shot to fame for his work as an attorney, author, and talk show host, but also for his previous 4 failed marriages.
He made Levy his fifth wife, with the two marrying on August 10, 2003, at the Central Synagogue in New York City. The ceremony was officiated by Rabbi Peter J. Rubinstein.
She gave birth to her only child, a daughter named Solita Liliana Rivera, on August 2nd, 2005.
