Personal Life : Parents, Family and Education

Master Stephen Co was born and raised in the Philippines. Both his parents were devout Catholics and as such, his early worldview was shaped by conservative Catholic teachings.
As a child, when he wasn’t at church or school, his mother would take him to several fortune tellers.

He opened up in an interview about how being Catholic made him fearful of other types of spirituality, especially those that weren’t guided by some form of Christianity.
Master Stephen is married to a fellow healer and businesswoman named Daphne Co.
The couple’s daughter was diagnosed with autism when she was very little. Daphne and Stephen chose not to take conventional methods of treatment to help her manage her condition.

Despite being criticized for the belief that autism could be cured, Master Co and his wife stayed true to themselves and decided to use unique energy techniques that Co stated were instrumental in helping her recover.

In his early 20s, Master Co worked as an engineer and was a member of the Baptist church.
His life turned around at age 24 when his wife, Daphne, broke her hip after a 14ft fall from a wall. It was then that Master Co discovered Pranic Healing which he believes helped her recover fully.
Master Stephen stated in an interview that a fortune teller he had visited with his mother when he was 13 years old had predicted his journey to Pranic Healing so he believed his wife breaking her hip was a sign to change paths.

Initially, his wife was diagnosed with a compound fracture and was told it would take her up to 4 months to walk again. During this period, Co studied the Silva Visualization Method which led him to Pranic Healing.
Later, he became a student under legendary healer, Master Choa Kok Sui, and spent the next 20 years honing his skills as a teacher and a healer.
After studying for 20 years in the Philippines, Master Co moved his family to the US where he began to share his wisdom and teach Westerners about Pranic Healing. Along with his wife, Daphne, Master Stephen founded the first PRANIC HEALING® center outside the Philippines, in Chino, California. It was named Pranic Healing Center/American Institute of Asian Studies.

In addition to being a healer, teacher, and speaker, Master Stephen is also the author of best-selling books such as Your Hands Can Heal You and The Power of Prana.
He also runs productivity and stress relief workshops for several companies and brands such as Microsoft, University of California, Kaiser Permanente Hospital, Paypal, Motorola, US Naval Hospital San Diego, Tony Robbins’ Unleash the Power Within, and the US Army.
Master Stephen and his wife also opened their own Pranic Healing center in Chino, California called the U.S. Pranic Healing Center.
