- Nina Kothari is the daughter of the late Indian business tycoon Dhirubhai Ambani.
- She is currently recognized as a key member of the Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd, the crown jewel company of HC Kothari Group, which was formerly, lead by her husband Bhadrashyam Kothari.
Personal Life, Parents and Family Details :
- Nina Kothari was born on July 21, 1962. She was the third child to be born to parents – Dhirubhai Ambani and Kokilaben Ambani.
- She grew up in a family of five with her parents & two elder brothers; Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani. Later on, they welcomed the fourth child, Deepti Salgaonkar to the family.
- By the time when Nina was turning 14-15 years old, her father Dhirubhai Ambani founded Reliance Industries in 1977, which later turned out to be one of the most profitable Indian companies. During this period, the Ambani family lived in a two-bedroom apartment at the Jai Hind Estate in Bhuleshwar, Mumbai.
- Shortly after the foundation of the Reliance Industries, things worked out well for the Ambanis, and they soon moved to live on the 22nd floor in the Usha Kiran building in Mumbai. Back then, it was the city’s only skyscraper, and only the ultra-rich families could afford a place there.

- Nina was married to Bhadrashyam Kothari, prominent industrialist and Chairman of the Kothari Sugars and Chemicals. The Kothari family was based in Chennai, had multiple business interests & had founded India’s first mutual fund- the Pioneer Fund.
- Bhadrashyam & Nina had two children; daughter, Nayantara and son, Arjun. Their daughter, Nayantara wed Shamit Bhartia, son of Shobhana Bhartia, chairperson of The Hindustan Times Group in January 2014.
- The dynamic & successful Bhadrashyam passed away at the age of 53 on February 22, 2015, after a long illness. Soon afterwards, Nina was appointed as Chairperson of the company with effect from April 2015.
Business, Career and Net Worth :
- Nina’s brothers Mukesh and Anil went on to work in & expand the Reliance business, after Dhirubhai’s death in 2000.
- Nina married a promising young man Bhadrashyam Kothari, an industrialist like her father who displayed a pioneering spirit in dealing with new areas opened up by the economic reforms in India.
- Bhadrashyam was trained under his father, and after he passed, he took over as Chairman and Managing Director of the H.C. Kothari group of companies.
