- Sam Zvibleman is best known for being the co-creator and director of Pen15, an American comedy web television series that is available on the streaming site Hulu.
Personal Life, Family and Career :
- Sam Zvibleman was born in 1983 to parents Alan N. Zvibleman, a family law attorney.
- Sam’s father earned the title of “Lawyer of the Year” for Family Law for the St. Louis area for 2016.
- He was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, but little else is known about his personal life due to his private nature.
- Zvibleman has worked on numerous different shorts as a director – Gabriel and Romy, The Rwanda Blend and Myth of Smashyphys. However, his first real break happened when he landed the director role on the TV series, Take my Wife, for which he directed 6 episodes.
- He then went on to direct the show The Neddeaus of Duquesne Island for ten episodes. He won the Best Director award at the Canadian Screen Awards for this series.
- In 2019, along with Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle, Sam co-created the show Pen15 that was picked up by Hulu. It has been his most popular work so far, and Hulu renewed the series for a second season in May 2019.
- In the show, the other two co-creators star as the leads as 13-year-old versions of themselves in the year 2000. The male lead is named ‘Sam’ and is actually based on Zvibleman’s life. Their co-stars are real 13-year-olds.
- The show did well, with a 94% approval rating at the review aggregation website, Rotten Tomatoes and a score of 82 out of 100 on the site, Metacritic.
