Haley began her reporting career in March 2017 working at the Independent Journal Review in Washington, D.C. as an Editorial Intern. After two months, she was promoted to Congressional Reporter and spent the next ten months covering news on the Trump Presidency and all of his policies, including his attempt to repeal Obamacare.
As part of the IRJ, Byrd also covered various political debates, including universal basic income.
In January 2018, Haley joined the Weekly Standard and began working as a Congressional Reporter.

Her job included reporting in-depth about Capitol Hill and its relationship with the White House as well as covering the Section 232 Tariffs under former President Trump and domestic policy in general.
