- Seung began her career as a reporter for The Des Moines Register. She stayed with them for a mere four months (May 2004 to August 2004).
- St. Petersburg Times offered her the job of a reporter in May 2005 & she worked for them until August 2005.
- Her next reporting job was at St. Paul Pioneer Press, from May 2006 until August 2006.
- While engaged in these minor jobs, Seung was also associated with The Daily Iowan. She took up the roles of reporter, metro editor and assistant web editor, from June 2003 until May 2007.
- The Star Ledger hired her a job as a reporter, from July 2007 until June 2008.
- Seung then stepped into USA Today, as its reporter and online news producer, in September 2008. She remained with the establishment until August 2009.
- For more than 8 years, August 2009 to early 2018, Kim was a Congressional Reporter for Politico.
- Currently, she is a White House Reporter at the Washington Post mainly covering the happenings of former President Trump’s administration.
