- Swathi Gowda’s parents are KCN Mohan and late director Poornima Mohan. She is the granddaughter of KCN Gowda, one of the top movie producers. KCN was also a film exhibitor, financier, and distributor. She is one of Mohan’s three children, the other two being Amulya and Surya. Swathi’s mother died on 13 October 2017 due to a cardiac arrest.
- Swathi was engaged to Nikhil Gowda, the son of former Chief Minister of Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy and grandson of former Indian Prime Minister HD Deva Gowda, in May 2015. The duo met each other in college and fell in love. However, the engagement broke for reasons unknown. Nikhil later married Revathi, grand-niece of former Congress leader M Krishnappa in April 2020.
