Tyler Shields is an American photographer, most popular for his work with various Hollywood Stars.
Trump’s Head Controversy :
- Tyler got into major controversy in May 2017, when he published photos on his website along with actress Kathy Griffin.
- In the photo, the actress held a decapitated head that looked very similar to US President Donald Trump.
- Despite many other artists & hollywood celebs having protested Trump before, (like Meryl Streep’s speech at the Golden Globes), Kathy and Tyler received flak from across the spectrum because of the brutal & insensitive display of a leading political figure.
- Kathy later apologized on Twitter (now called X), that “maybe she went too far this time.”
- The President remarked that Kathy should be “ashamed of herself, as young people like his son Barron are going to see it & be affected by it.”

- Tyler was born in year 1982.
- He is originally from Jacksonville, Florida.
- For his photography style, he likes taking out celebrities out of their comfort zone.
- His controversial style has led to people referring to him as “bad boy of photography” or “one of the most cutting edge artists” out there.
- In an interview, he mentioned that all his work is real & without the use of tools like Photoshop.

- Besides the Trump controversy, Tyler has been accused of plagiarism on multiple counts.
- In 2015, an artist Henry Leutwyler, publicly accused Shields of copying his 2012 pictures of a ballerina with bloodied feet.
Other Controversial Photos :
- In 2013, in a photo of actress Ashley Greene, she was tied to a truck & a real train was coming towards her.
- In 2015, his work again received major eyeballs with his series “Historical Fiction.” One of the photos showed a coloured guy hitting a member of the white supremacist organisation KKK.
- Known for his daredevil stunts, he once hung out of the 14th storey of a building to take the photo of an actor hanging from the building.

- Besides photography, Tyler got into the movie business as well & directed his first movie in 2015 titled Final Girl. It had actress Abigail Breslain in the lead.
- Tyler also did some writing work in the past & has a book published in 2011 called the Smartest Man.
