All those regular visitors to the musical section of YouTube, would be familiar with the name Marty Schwartz. Yes, he is the one, who promises to help everyone learn and love music via his Marty Music Classes!

- Marty hails from Newport Beach, California. Currently, he resides in San Diego, California.

- Marty completed his high schooling from Corona Del Mar High School in Newport Beach, California. He was there from 1988-1993.
- During his senior high, he took to playing the guitar. He even took up membership with a band, which focused on songs played by famous jam musicians, such as Phish and Blues Traveler.
- After completing high school, Marty secured admission to the Santa Fe University of Art and Design (SFUAD). He studied for a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts (BFA). His field of study there was Contemporary Music.
- From 1993 to 1997, Marty concentrated on percussion, rock, jazz, blues, and vocals. He also got into the production of music and became a member of diverse music ensembles.
- The talented musician has now created a name for himself by playing at events, nightclubs, etc.

- For eight years (1997-2005), Marty was self-employed. He offers himself as a professional musician and guitar instructor to students who were keen to study music.
- He went in for as many private lessons as he could fit into his schedule, even going up to 75 students at one time!
- Besides classical style, Marty has demonstrated his expertise in all other styles of music. He continues to remain a private guitar instructor.
- In January 2005, he joined Kelly Elementary School in Carlsbad, California. He was the music teacher there, until January 2008. During this time, he taught the basics of singing songs and playing various instruments to all students, up to grade 5.
- Besides his work in music, Marty even took a keen interest in community work.
- After he lost this job, he began to upload custom lessons on YouTube.
- Marty also runs his own company, Marty Schwartz Music, in 2016. The company is located in the Greater San Diego area.

I used to know a young man (in the 1970s) named Marty Schwartz who lived in an apartment on Coronado Ave, in Long Beach, CA. His apartment was right above mine, and I would often hear him practicing his bass guitar. Are you related to this person? The Marty Schwartz that I knew was born probably around 1955. I find a lot of the YouTube guitar instruction hard to follow or the instructor is confusing or talks about irrelevant things….But I like Marty! Easy to follow and listen to with some great instruction. You are my go-to teacher now!!!

Whether I am casually playing guitar with friends, or seriously playing drums in my gigging band, one thing in common always comes up. When we are trying to figure out a song and get stuck after trying a few ways of playing it that doesn’t sound quite right. We look at each other and say “Marty Schwartz.” And before the “z” is fully pronounced, everyone is nodding their heads. No further explanation is needed!
Man, what you do is great. I recently retired and have always played the guitar. I am self-taught and can not read music so I play a lot by ear. I now have time too and for myself to play.these last 2 years I have learned a lot from you. Your videos are amazing. Listening to you play is a pleasure and your instruction are precise. I am very appreciative of what you do. I just wanted to thank you. When I hear a song I want to learn the first I do is see if Marty has an instructional video. Again, thank you!
