- Allegedly compelled by God to pursue her passion for weather, Bree Smith is an Emmy nominated meteorologist who has been reporting on floods, tornadoes and winter storms across three US states since 2010.
- Now based in Tennessee, Bree is a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the National Weather Association.
Personal Life : Parents, Family and Education
- Born and raised in Danville, California, Bree attended the San Ramon Valley High School.
- Later, she studied at the Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas. She graduated in 2004 with a degree in Theatre Performance.
- Fresh from university, Bree moved to New York City & for a few following years, she worked as a professional film and stage actress.
- After a three-year gap, Bree returned to studying, but this time, she opted for Meteorology at the Florida State University.
- In 2008, she transferred to Florida International University and in 2010 she graduated with a BS in Meteorology.
- Further more, she gained a ‘Weathercast Certification of Merit’ from the Missouri Broadcasters Association in 2015.

- Bree currently lives in Tennessee with her husband Curt.
- The couple were married before Bree had finished her meteorology degree. She has moved in her career on more than one occasion to accompany her husband.
- Together, they have one young son, Cole, and a cat named Jack.
Professional Life : Career, Salary and Net Worth
- Bree’s first experience working with a television network was during the time she was studying in Florida – she interned at WPLG-TV. The internship lasted four months from May to August 2009.
- She also interned the following year, after graduating, with WDSU-NBC, a broadcasting network based in Miramar, Florida.
- In 2010, Bree moved to New Orleans with her husband and began working as a Meteorologist and Traffic Reporter for WVLA-TV in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
- In 2011, she moved again, this time to St. Louis, Missouri, & in August the same year, she began her career with KSDK as the Weekend Meteorologist. Bree presented the weather with KSDK for over 5 years. Here, she reported on the historic 2016 New Year’s Eve floods as well.
- In January 2016, Bree moved to WTVF-TV, a CBS affiliate based in Nashville, Tennessee. She continues to be a part of the Storm 5 weather team on NewsChannel 5 Nashville WTVF.
