Whittal’s husband is an entrepreneur who owns a company called Hard Music Design, which provides music production and services throughout Canada. In an interview, Jaclyn mentioned that she wishes to stay somewhere in the Mediterranean with her husband.

The couple has three daughters.
With her husband Ross, Whittal moved to Okanagan Landing in August 2020 from their home in Brantford, Ontario. The move to Vernon was motivated after the couple became empty nesters and the COVID-19 pandemic gave Jaclyn the opportunity to work from home for the first time in her life.

After studying Musical Theatre at the University of Windsor, Whittal spent a significant amount of her time pursuing her music career. She released two independent albums and went on to tour Europe as a cast member of the German rendition of the hit musical ‘Grease.’ Whittal was cast to play one of the main characters named Sandy.
After dedicating years to her music and theatre career, Jaclyn decided (around age 30) she was ready for a new challenge and ventured off into television and media.
She moved to Barrie in Ontario, Canada, and began collaborating with Rogers TV to host a show called “Restaurantours.” Whittal also co-hosted the ‘Daytime’ show and eventually discovered a budding love for weather and meteorology.

Jaclyn interned at the City TV station in Toronto, Canada.
In October 2010, Whittal joined Global TV and spent a little over one year working as a weather anchor. She was given the position on a permanent basis and renewed her contract for another ten months before leaving in July 2012.
She moved to Oakville, Ontario, and took a job as the on-camera meteorologist for The Weather Network (TWN). Jaclyn has spent over a decade working for the network and specialised there in natural disasters and severe weather.

Whittal’s work at TWN began with broadcasting weather forecasts, but she has since transitioned to producing stories and videos for the network’s website and highly-popular phone app, including content on the science behind weather patterns.
She is also a storm chaser and appears on Amazon Prime as part of a show called Storm Hunters.

When she is not working, Jaclyn loves to run, garden, and cook. She is also an avid biker and horse rider.

Whittal admitted in an interview that she is not a fan of scuba diving and underwater diving. She explained that being underwater makes her feel claustrophobic, unlike when she is in a swimming pool where she feels very comfortable.
Jaclyn has released a pair of rock albums called Screwtiny and Lipsting with her husband who co-wrote and produced it. That is how the two met! Both albums can be streamed on Spotify.

Listened to your story about Kal Lake. FYI, you are pronouncing the full name of the lake incorrectly. There is a second “l” close to the end of the name that you are not pronouncing.

I have always loved your former weather show with Mark Robinson. I have been in prairie storms in Saskatchewan and in two tornados in Minneapolis – to actually LOOK for these storms! Wow. Also, I enjoy your ongoing presentations. Keep up the good work!
