Jessica worked as a media intern with Fox News for one year in 2009 after she graduated. She was stationed in New York for five months before being transferred to Los Angeles for four months.
She then made the move to NBC Montana in 2010, where she worked as a General Assignment Reporter. For the few months she was there, she gained valuable experience by being the “one-man-band reporter” producing content for the 2-5 bulletin.

Headley then went to KUSI Television at San Diego for six months as a live reporter on weekday nights & did freelance reporting on the side.
She dabbled with the idea of writing as she found work with The Huffington Post as an editorial writer and regular contributor. She was there for a little more than a year.
In March 2012, she left Huffington Post and freelanced for six months. She found work with MAPA Strategy in Los Angeles as a Communication Coordinator in that period.

She started working at the Sinclair Broadcast Group in August 2012, where she held two positions. Jessica was the traffic anchor for both Fox 29 and NBC 4, and at the same time the main fill-in anchor for both stations.
She dropped her role with NBC 4 in October 2014 to serve as the morning anchor for the weekday early morning news from 5am to 9am at Fox 29.
A year later, she began anchoring for the midday weekday news as well from 11am to 12pm.

She juggled both positions until May 2017, and then transitioned to main night anchor for the Prime Time One Hour Show.
She briefly hosted the movie show Film Flickers with Quarter Moon Productions from March 2014 to April 2015. The show aired on Sunday nights at 9pm on CW 35.

Headley co-founded a non-profit group called PRAISE Inc., short for “Promoting Responsibility, Awareness, Integrity, Service, and Education.” Her organization has led to legislative changes in the education system of America and the first-ever passing of funding for Character Education in the State of Alabama.
She was awarded the President of the United State’s Service Award for over 4,000 hours of community service with PRAISE Inc.
The State of Alabama named May 21 as “Jessica Headley Day” in recognition of her work.

She has also participated in the Miss Alabama beauty pageant, and never failed to rank among the top 3.
She reveals that she once had 18 turtles as a kid.
