Introduction :
Karen Dalmeny is a long time antiques expert, who featured on ITV’s two competitive antique TV shows Dickinson’s Real Deal and Secret Dealers.
Personal Life, Parents and Family Details :
- Karen has one daughter that got married in 2013. Karen is also a grandmother, and occasionally posts pics of her grandkids on Instagram. In September 2020, Karen announced that a new baby was added to their family.
- Dalmeny has two dogs and often supports various charities.
Profession, Career, Salary and Net Worth :
- Dalmeny started with a career as a personnel officer many years ago.
- She stopped working to start her family, and while on her own she became interested in the world of antique trading.
- She started off by attending ‘flea markets’ and then progressed to visiting several antique shops. Dalmeny now has over twenty-five years of experience in the field.
- In 2006, she was invited to appear on Dickinson’s Real Deal which featured ten different antique dealers competing for valuable and unique items. Karen continues to be a part of the show.
- In 2012, a new show debuted on ITV called Secret Dealers and she stars there as well, having been involved from the very first episode.
- When she isn’t on TV, Dalmeny spends her time travelling around the UK to big antique trade fairs. She considers herself a more ‘traditional’ antique dealer who is interested in Victorian and Georgian items. However, she is also interested in more modern-day items such as Moorcroft, Clarice Cliff, art deco, art nouveau pieces, Lalique, quality glass and other odd antiquities.
- She also appraises and purchases items including gold and silver (jewellery, tea sets, etc.) whenever possible. These items go to her antique shops in the Southern UK.
- In addition to her career in antiques, she has also spoken for a number of events.
