Maura was born in Inishmore, County Galway, Ireland, on 8th July 1970.
For her education, she studied at the “Gairmscoil Einne” and “Galway Institute of Technology” in Ireland.
In 2005, she married Irish Fine Gael politician from Watergate named John Deasy. They had been dating for three years before they decided to get married. The couple lives in Dungarvan, Waterford County.

She mentioned that she wouldn’t follow her husband’s steps in politics since she is not much fond of it, plus politicians are always blamed for everything.
She had a son at the age of 43 named Cal, born in May 2014. She mentioned that she couldn’t see her newborn son for 48 hours since she became sick after the quick and raw C-section surgery.
