Oriel Morrison is a corporate trainer and executive. She was the co-anchor of CBNC’s popular show Street Signs. She is one of the most reputed business journalists in Australia & has several years of experience in financial and business news reporting.

Personal Life : Parents, Family and Education

Oriel was born in the UK and was raised in many different countries. When she was just 18 months old, her family moved to Cape Town, South Africa.

For the next 12 years, Oriel and her family stayed in South Africa, with a couple of years in-between in Canada. Post this, the family moved to Brisbane, Australia, where she did her schooling.
Oriel is now married & a mother of a handsome kid Kaius.
She attended the University of Queensland, based in Brisbane, Australia. Surprisingly, here she studied Marine Science, and nothing related to her future line of work. Oriel graduated in 1995.

Oriel Morrison began her career in 1997 where she worked in the trading equities for a prominent brokerage house in Australia and in the financial markets. Oriel often offered advice on foreign exchange market trade future.
This experience in the trading market enabled her to land a position as a reporter for the Reuters Financial Television Network based in London, in the year 2000. This was her first job on television!

In 2001, Morrison returned to Sydney to work for Reuters Television as their Bureau Chief.
By 2003, Morrison had built herself a strong profile & started covering finance for Channel Seven and also for Sky News.
From 2004 to 2006, Morrison worked for Nine Network as one of the presenters for Business Sunday and Today Show.

In 2007, she joined CNBC & has been working there now, for more than a decade later.
At CNBC, Oriel had anchored the show CashFlow alongside reporter Martin Soong. It provide live market updates, breaking business news and reports for on-the-ground business events around Australia. In August 2015, Morrison donned an All Black Scarf after losing a bet to New Zealand Prime Minister John Key. A picture was posted of Oriel Morrison in a complete All Black Ruby Union kit & holding on to an inflatable kiwi.
The All Blacks had defeated Australia’s Wallabies in a Saturday night game in Auckland. The bet had first started on 7th August when Morrison was interviewing Prime Minister John Key & she dared him to wear the jersey for Australian rugby if the Australian Wallabies defeated New Zealand in a game in Sydney.
On her first day live on television, she was asked to report on the happenings of the market on the London Stock Exchange. However, she froze for a few seconds, as her director kept talking into her earpiece giving instructions.
