- Melissia is well-known for being the mother to Iyanna Mayweather (born in 2000), the daughter of multi-millionaire world champion boxing star Floyd Mayweather.
- Floyd, known for his flamboyant & brash personality, was named as the highest-paid athlete in the world by magazines like Sports Illustrated and Forbes.
- Melissia and Floyd met way back in the 1990s at a casino in Las Vegas when she was only 16 years old. At that time, Melissa was working at the Rio Hotel and Casino. She also had a son, Devion Cromwell, from a previous relationship.
- The two got into a relationship, and Floyd helped her out with her kid. A while before their daughter was born the two stopped talking due to an issue with Floyd’s previous girlfriend, Josie Harris.

- The first incident happened at their home during an argument they were having over Iyanna’s child support. It was reported that Floyd knocked Brim with a car door & then dealt three blows to her face.
- The second time Brim was in a mall with her daughter when Floyd asked a friend to hold her daughter while he punched her in the neck.
- In October 2014, Devion Cromwell, Melissa’s son from her prior relationship also filed a report with the police saying that Floyd had once put him in a chokehold.
- The incident happened during Halloween celebrations in Floyd’s Las Vegas mansion. Cromwell was having a party when Floyd arrived and ordered everyone out. It was then that Devion got furious and told him that he is not his father and the alleged chokehold incident followed.
