Lucia Guo Hunt, formerly Lucia Guo, is the wife of the British politician & former foreign secretary Jeremy Hunt.

Lucia Guo was born in 1978, in Xi’an, the capital city of Shaanxi Province of China.
Lucia is more than a decade younger than her husband Jeremy (who was born in 1966).
The couple first met in a HotCourses event in Warwick in 2008. HotCourses, an online business for English education, at that time, was owned by Jeremy Hunt. Lucia didn’t know Jeremy would become her husband a year later & she would move to London with him!

After marriage, the pair went on to have three children – Jack, Anna and Eleanor.
In 2009, Guo was proposed to by Jeremy while walking near his parent’s house in the village of Shere in Surrey. The pair got married traditionally in Xi’an, China.
Lucia had to tag along with Jeremy when he asked her father for permission to marry her. She did this to help Jeremy communicate with her dad in Mandarin.

In 2008, Guo was working at the University of Warwick encouraging Chinese recruits to study at the university. HotCourses had an event in Warwick & this is how Jeremy and Lucia’s story started.
After getting married to Jeremy, the two formed the company Mare Pond Properties Limited & bought seven luxury properties in the Ocean Village Development in South Hampton.

Later, Jeremy was accused of breaching UK’s anti-money laundering legislation, when he did not declare his 50% interest in the property firm on the Parliamentary Register of Members’ interests.
