Roshni was born in 1982 and grew up in Delhi.
Parents : She is the only daughter of parents – Shiv (father) and Kiran Nadar (mother).
Shiv Nadar, an industrialist and philanthropist, is the founder and chairman of the multi billion firm HCL Enterprises.

Her mother, Kiran, is an Indian art collector and founder of Kiran Nadar Museum of Art.
Education : Roshni attended the Vasant Valley School. She graduated from Northwestern University in Illinois, USA with a degree in Communications with a focus on Radio/TV & Films.
She later obtained a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the prestigious Kellogg School of Management, with a focus on Social Enterprise Management and Strategy.

Roshni Nadar Married Life :

Nadar wedded Shikhar Malhotra and have two sons together. The eldest is named Armaan, while the youngest was born in January 2017.
They met through common friends in Delhi and were together for close to a decade before tying the knot. In the time they were together, they were in a long-distance relationship for seven years.

Her husband Shikhar is the Vice Chairman of HCL Healthcare. Prior to their marriage, he was a distributor for Honda. His family also ran a food distribution business in Kuwait.

After graduation, Roshni first started working at Sky News UK and CNN America as a news producer.

She joined her father’s company after pursuing her short career in Broadcast Journalism.
A year later, she was promoted to CEO of the HCL Corporation in April 2009.
She admits that she found the journey to becoming CEO of a tech giant a big challenge, as she did not have the necessary background in technology.

During her tenure as CEO, she helped conceive HCL Infosystems (a distribution and I.T. solutions division) and HCL TalentCare (a skills training division) in an effort to diversify the business.
Business Today also featured Roshni as the Most Powerful Women in India Inc. in 2016.

Charity and Other Philanthropic Work :

Roshni is a trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation, an initiative established by her father to close the socio-economic gap in India.
She launched the VidyaGyan program within the Foundation to provide free education to the best of students from underprivileged background, specifically from Utter Pradesh.
The first batch of students of the program achieved a 100 percent passing rate for the CBSE class XII examination. All students scored a minimum of 80 percent for the paper!

On top of managing the different departments within HCL’s main businesses, Roshni also administers the Shiv Nadar University and VidyaGyan schools for rural students, the Shiv Nadar School and the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art as a trustee in the Foundation.
The young leader was awarded the NDTV Young Philanthropist – Indian of the Year award in 2014.
