Ashley Borders, a designer & a rising reality star, always knew she wanted to work in fashion at a young age. She believes everyone should be true to their dreams and make an impact in the world they love!
Early Start to Her Design Career :
- While Ashley’s first designs were for her Barbie dolls, they were the inspiration for her first fashion line House of Borders when she was 16.
- She continued to work on her label throughout college, and her eveningwear model was Kate Middleton. This was during a student fashion show at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland.
- Surprisingly, it was during this show that the British Royal, Prince William, first saw Kate Middleton wearing Ashley’s design.
- Her designs have also been featured in Miss America pageant and The Pageantry magazine.
Education and Professional Growth : Salary and Net Worth
- Borders attended Wofford College, and then relocated to Hamburg, Germany, working with Jil Sander and traveling throughout Europe.
- In 2006, she moved to Dubai and worked with film and TV art directors as a wardrobe stylist. She worked with multiple films and documentaries: City of Life, The Neighbor, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.
- Even with business degrees from the world’s best schools, Ashley’s career hasn’t always been glitzy: In Dubai, she has swept floors, repaired garments, steamed the clothing, doing whatever she had to do just to get by.
- From this experience, she has launched a Lovelution T-shirt line, which employs developmentally disabled people and also assists Goodwill programs to repurpose garments.

- After she moved back to the USA with her husband Dennis, she wanted to work locally to be near to her newborn son Izzy. - Ashley has designed everything from red carpet looks to uniforms for a French company and takes on clients for movie productions frequently.
- Borders has continued as creative director for South Magazine and been working on Bravo International’s Southern Charm Savannah.
- Along with her design work, Ashley also works at the airport for Delta Airlines twice a week and travels internationally with her clients. She enjoys traveling and frequently flies stand-by to Europe or South Africa, continuing to expand her craft with Gulfstream Aerospace’s marketing department and event stylist.
Personal Life and Trivia :
- Ashley recently opened up about her decision to divorce her husband, Dennis, saying, “You have to make space in your life for good things to come.” They have gotten married twice, and she states that she feels they have tried everything they could do to make the marriage work for both themselves and Isaac, their son.
- Ashley told fans that “Very difficult endings are disguised like beautiful new beginnings” and that “it is still scary…but Dennis will always be family.”
- Borders also appeared in her first film, An LA Minute.
