Marnie was born in South Shields, Newcastle, on 17th January 1992.
Before she rose to fame, Marnie worked at a local bar as a waitress.
As a young adult, she played an active role in a “crash for cash” scam, where the stag party she was with faked a car crash and demanded compensation. The judge punished her with 150 hours of community service for the stunt.

Simpson was also involved in a nightclub brawl, for which the authorities brought her to court. However, charges against her were dropped.
In 2012, she competed in Miss Newcastle pagaent and was the first runner up behind winner Rachelle Graham.
