‘Agnihotra 2’ is the sequel series of the hit TV show Agnihotra. It is a story of the Agnihotri family. Sharad Ponkshe as Mahadev was the pioneer & the lead character of Agnihotra 1 and will be seen in the second part as well. The storyline is a suspense/thriller, the same as its prequel.

Akshara Agnihotri is the daughter of Satej Agnihotri (Mahadev’s cousin, role played by Rajan Bhise). Satej is suffering from some kind of Amnesia where he sometimes remembers things of years past but doesn’t remember things that happened 10 mins before. He is an archaeologist by profession but was framed by colleagues for a crime that he did not commit – this left him in a state of depression and fragile at times. Akshara reads a letter that Mahadev had sent to Satej, which was hidden by her wife and decides to go to Nashik, who works as a blogger and translator. She always gets dreams of cartoon demons and Wada, even though she never has seen it.

Mahadev Kaka tells Akshara that he is tired of being alone in the Wada, and he often sends letters to his cousins asking them to visit and stay here. They all came on some occasions but never more than once. After meeting Kaka, Akshara goes back to Pune.

After 1 month, Mahadev’s cousins receive one more letter that he has passed away and tells them to visit for Terava vidhi. Akshara wants to know more about the Agnihotri family and visits the Wada again. Here, she gets the death news of Mahadev Kaka from his cousins Rohini, Shripaad, Usha and Mrunal Agnihotri.

Bharat Tryambak Agnihotri (Cousin of Mahadev, real brother of Satej) has sent the letter to all cousins. He performs the daily puja in Wada since Mahadev’s death.

Bharat also tells all the cousins to sign a power of attorney letter to his name so that somebody from the Agnihotri family can continue to stay there to perform puja and Agni vidhi. All cousins decide to sign the letter as everyone has jobs and nobody can stay there for their whole life. But Akshara denies it, as Bharat was once caught in a bank fraud case. She tells everyone that it is quite suspicious that Kaka has passed away and stays in Wada for few more days after everyone is left. Eventually, she is proven right as Bharat wants the power of attorney to make the Wada in his name. He also wants to sell the property to Goan Businessman Ajit Talgiri. He then kidnaps Mahadev and keeps her in a locked room.

Will Akshara be able to save Wada from Talgiri? Will Mahadev will get away from the hands of Bharat? It will be interesting to watch from here how the storyline progresses.

‘Agnihotra 1’ gave many promising actors to the industry like Mrunmayee Deshpande , Siddharth Chandekar , Mrinmayee Godbole, Spruha Joshi. None of these actors will be acting in ‘Agnihotra 2.’ Vedashree Oak has sung the title track of this serial.
