Personal Life :
Kartiki Gaikwad is a Marathi singer who was born in Alandi (District : Pune) in a “Varkari Sampraday” family. Her family included her parents – Father Kalyanji Gaikwad, who taught her classical music. Kalyanji is also a singer and music director. In his career, he has mainly composed Bhajans, Kirtans, ‘Gan-Gavalan’ & produced different devotional songs and albums.
Kartiki also has a brother named Kaustubh Gaikwad.
She passed the SSC exam in 2013 with 73% marks.
Professional Life :
Kartiki first appeared in the competitive music reality show Idea Sa Re Ga Ma Little Champs organized by Zee Marathi. This was back in 2008, and Kartiki was only 9-10 years old at that time. A great success, she was shortlisted in the final 50 facing competition from several thousand children in the age group of 8 to 14 yrs.
In the pre-semifinal round, she was eliminated because of low SMS score, despite receiving a good singing score. Later, she got another opportunity and was called back in the call-back round.
Riding on her excellent performances, Kartiki reached the final 5. She was declared as the winner of the competition in February 2009. After her victory, a big rally was carried out in Alandi to celebrate her success.
Later, Gaikwad went on to perform in various shows such as – MIFTA 2010, Lakh Lakh Chanderi in 2011, Nashik festival in 2012, Jyeshotsav in 2015, Star Pravah Ratna Awards in 2016 and many others.
The year 2012 also saw the release of her first playback album titled Dinacha Soyra Pandurang. Shivsena Pramukh Balasaheb Thackeray inaugurated it. Her second album titled Swaranubhuti was released in 2015.
