Early Life, Education, Parents and Family :

Allie Bethany Clifton was born on January 30, 1988, to parents Bill Clifton (father) and Kim Clifton (mother). Bill celebrated his 60th birthday on April 12, 2021.
Allie has two siblings - An elder sister Abbie Clifton and her younger brother Corey Clifton. Corey celebrated his 28th birthday in March 2021.
Growing up in the Ohio area, she was interested in sports from a young age. She opted to play basketball over the dance lessons that her mother suggested during her middle school years!

Education : In 2006, straight out of high school, she was accepted into The University of Toledo. She first earned a Bachelors in Sports Analysis and Communications & then went on to earn her Masters in Communications with a major in Sports Broadcasting.
During her time at college, she played on their women’s basketball team for all four years.
She also met Jason Kalsow while studying, who later went on to become her husband. Currently, Jason works as an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Toledo University.

As a practicing Christian, Clifton says her faith is an integral part of her life.

After graduating from college in 2010, Allie landed her first role with WTOL News, as a sports reporter. She worked with that company for six years, although she did freelance out to other roles during that time.
Some of that freelancing work included working as a sideline commentator for Buckeye Cable Sports & the Minor League Baseball divisions.
Later, she accepted a full-time role with WGTV as a reporter in March 2012 and worked there alongside her WTOL role until she left WTOL in 2016.

Currently, she works as a sideline reporter and commentator for the Cleveland Cavaliers. She has said that this is her favorite job out of all, as it gets her closer to the basketball action that she enjoyed while playing competitively in University.

Road Trippin’ Fame :

During her first two years with the Cleveland Cavaliers, she developed a close friendship with players Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye.

The hilarity of her interviews with the two led to them creating their own show via podcast, titled Road Trippin’ with RJ & Channing. She acts as the host of the show, and the Spanish radio announcer Rafael Hernandez Brito also occasionally joins them.
The show was created under the premise of the boys discussing their games while they are on the road, and it has been praised for the casualness of its content.
