Personal Life:
Alka Kubal was born and brought up in Goregaon, Mithanagar in Mumbai. Her education was completed first at BMC school and later at Maharashtra vidyalaya. Her college was Dalmiya College. She started acting in her third standard, with the Natak series “Natsamrat”. Later, she acted in Nataks like Veda Vrindavan and Vat Savitri.

In a few interviews, she has mentioned that she is a good homemaker and tries to balance her acting career with her homely duties. She has also produced a couple of movies. Mrunal Gore is her favorite actress, her grandfather has worked in a few movies along with Mrunal ji. She has acted in over 200 films and also done two TV series, and also ventured into a few Gujarati, Hindi and Bhojpuri films.

Professional Life:
Her first movie was Chakra, which she did in her 10th standard and her most Memorable role was Laxmi in Maherchi Saree, which made her a superstar. She was so popular that women worshipped her and travelled miles just to meet her. Maherchi Saree was the highest earning Marathi film for over a decade, earning over 10 crores. This is extremely special because the ticket rates at that time were just 10 to 15 rupees.

Though she portrays “radubai” and “bichari” kind of roles in cinema, she is extremely strong and courageous in her personal life. Moreover, she is extremely dedicated to the cause against Female Infanticide “Strigarbh hatya” and has strived to work against it.
