Erin’s first job in news was as an anchor and reporter for KAMC-TV in Lubbock, Texas. Here, she reported on evacuees of Hurricane Katrina who had escaped to Texas.
During her time in Texas, she hosted a Spanish language show named ‘Si Se Puede.”
After this, Erin moved to Providence, Rhode Island in December 2005 and worked as an anchor for six years at WPRI-TV/WNAC-TV.

While in Providence, she also created, produced, and anchored a show called “Webcast en Espanol.”
Then, in December 2011, Erin moved again, this time to Cleveland, Ohio, to work as a morning news anchor for WKYC-TV alongside Chris Tye. She stayed for three years until 2014.
While in Cleveland, she often worked with the Rape Crisis Center and YWCA as a host of event emcee as a way of giving back to the community.

In 2014, Kennedy became the co-anchor of CBS 2 Chicago’s weekday morning newscasts. She worked at the network for six years, until she was laid off in May 2020, along with a few other staff members.
