Katherine was born in Guildford, Surrey, around 1967-68. She is an only child.
Graduating from high school in 1985, Katherine then went on to attend the University of East Anglia and graduated with a BA (Hons) in Art and Architectural History in 1989. She specialised in the 1700s and 1900s eras.

Katherine was a “Girl Guide” as a girl, and accomplished some of her badges by working at the Guildford Museum.
She is married and lives with her husband, Thomas, in a house in Surrey, England. She is not reported to have four children & is also known for owning several pets.

She began working on the show Antiques Roadshow in 2001 and finished in 2013.
