- Mel reached out to the girl’s family and decided, along with her friend Jonathan, to take part in the Virgin London Marathon, which helps raise funds for research dedicated to finding a treatment for the disease.
- The marathon is a part of the “Muscular Dystrophy Campaign” to find treatments and to help patients diagnosed with the disease to live better lives.
