- She began her career in Northeastern Pennsylvania at WBRE. Staying close to home, Melissa was able to refine her skills and move to on-air forecasting shortly after being hired.
- She then became the morning meteorologist for WJFW in Wisconsin, where she experienced and forecasted the worst winter on record in Northern Wisconsin. With more snow and lower temperatures than ever recorded, Melissa had her hands full and did a wonderful job keeping the people of Wisconsin aware of advisories, warnings, and trusted forecasts. This experience showed Melissa pure intensity of the weather, and she has been interested in extreme weather events ever since.
- Later, Melissa moved south to Alabama (to warm up, we’re sure) and was a weekend morning meteorologist for WKRG. While Pennsylvania doesn’t have any intense football rivalries, Melissa enjoyed the good-hearted competition between rival Alabama football teams. Though she is first and foremost a fan of her Nittany Lions, she now cheers for Alabama Football.
- Melissa has recently returned to Pennsylvania and is a staff meteorologist for AccuWeather. A highly-trusted name in meteorology, AccuWeather is based in State College, Pennsylvania.
- This homecoming has allowed Melissa to return closer to family and friends. With the largest number of forecast meteorologists in one location anywhere in the world, Melissa is one of the hundreds of trained meteorologists in the area.
