Rebecca Jillian Vargas was born on February 27, 1990, in Trumbull, Connecticut. She also grew up there.
She is the oldest of two girls born to Ruth (mother) and Hector (father). Rebecca has one younger sister named Rachel Angelakos. Coming from a diverse background, Rebecca has Italian and Hispanic ancestry.
After meeting in May 2014, Rebecca got engaged to Curtis Bradley in July 2018. Curtis — the head coach of the Braden River High School football team. Curtis had proposed while the couple was vacationing in the Montana mountains.

Growing up in a religious household, Rebecca attended the private college preparatory school, Heritage Christian School in Connecticut.

Following high school, Rebecca moved south to attend Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. While there, she worked as a host on the university’s faith-based talk show, R.A.W. (Real and Living) TV; and as a news anchor for the university’s 96 News and WSEU Radio.
She was also a member of the Southeastern Singers. Rebecca graduated in 2012 with a B.S. in broadcast communications with a minor in religion and history.
The summer before her senior year, Vargas further paved the way for her broadcasting career by completing a news internship with the ABC affiliate WFTV. During this time, the Casey Anthony trial came to a close, and Rebecca assisted with the coverage of the case and wrote and edited her own story on the tragedy.

A few months after graduating college, Rebecca completed a 3-month internship with WSVN Channel 7 in Miami. Working as an entertainment reporter and journalist, she conducted interviews with top celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Colin Farrell, and Kevin Jonas.
From 2013-2016, Rebecca worked as an anchor for Good Morning Suncoast on the ABC affiliate WWSB TV, and as a co-host on their show The Suncoast View. Broadcasting out of Sarasota, Florida, she quickly gained a loyal fan base from the locals.
