Tanya Stevenson is an English TV presenter and a horse/dog racing betting expert.
She is most well-known to the audiences as the Channel 4 Racing correspondent and co-presenter of the betting segments on Morning Line.

Now in her fifties, Tanya is very well respected in her field. It is usually said that what she doesn’t know about betting, prices, and form isn’t worth knowing anyway!

Tanya’s family roots are from the Waddon neighbourhood, in the London Borough of Croydon. She is now living in Nottingham.

Her love for betting probably comes from her stepdad, who was a bookmaker himself. He used to pitch in Canterbury and Southend & he usually used to take her with him there.
Tanya made the headlines in the racing press when her greyhound Summi Girl was stolen. Months later, Summi Girl has found. She currently owns four more dogs, despite her father advising her that she should not be a dog owner and a bookmaker at the same time.

By the age of nine, Tanya was fluent in “tic-tac”, which is the sign language for the betting ring.
Tanya was always very passionate about her domain, so she got her bookmaker license for betting at the young age of 20. A bookmaker license allows a person to take bets, set odds and be eligible to pay out on winning bets.

Career, Income, Salary and Net Worth :

In the early 2000s, Tanya’s first job at Channel Four was that of a production secretary for Channel Four Racing. Later on, she became an email correspondent and started working on encouraging regular viewers to express their thoughts and opinions about the sport. During her tenure, the number of emails went up from around 30 per show to 300.
Tanya was also a bookmaker at Sittingbourne’s greyhound track as her passion for betting did not stop at horse racing but extended to dog racing, too.
She truly found fame as the co-presenter of Channel 4 Racing.Tanya was initially the program’s betting correspondent together with Brian Gleeson and Tom Lee.

She has also worked as a part of Channel 4’s Morning Line team, where she was the co-presenter of the show’s betting segment with John McCririck. Morning Line was a Saturday morning program presenting the day’s live horse racing and providing tips for the next day’s race.
The talented woman has also worked as a reporter for The Grand National Horse Races.

Although she is really into racing, Tanya loves all sports, particularly cricket, NFL, golf and darts.
She was labelled 4’s “Femme Email” by her dear betting colleague John McCririck and apparently, they kept using that tag on the show from then onwards.

Tanya remembers that amongst the racing emails she received on Channel 4, there were a few marriages proposals!
Surprisingly, Tanya’s love for sports stops at the watching and betting level. She is not very enthusiastic about actually participating in the game. The only sport she played was netball while in high school!
When Tanya was just 11 years old, she asked her mother to put her 50p pocket money on Ben Nevis to win the Grand National (at odds 50/1!). This was her first winning bet.
