Born in May 1992, American journalist Taylor Rooks is paving the way for women in sports journalism. She has her own podcast Timeout with Taylor; she has her own show ‘Take it There with Taylor’ on Bleacher Report and also hosts on Turner Sports!
In her work, Taylor covers mostly the basketball and football sports leagues.

Personal Life, Parents and Family Details :

Born as the eldest of two siblings, Taylor Rooks was born in St Louis, Missouri, to parents Thomas (father) and Stephanie Rooks (mother). The family later moved to Gwinnett County, Georgia.
She graduated from Peachtree Ridge High School in 2010 and kept tradition in going to the same university as her father – The University of Illinois. She majored in Broadcast Journalism.

Athletics and sports have been a major influence from a young age as her father, Thomas Rooks, was an Illini Running back and a football legend.
Her mother was the Dean at Gwinnett Technical College and helped keep Taylor focused on her education, despite her mother never losing a fantasy football game.

While studying journalism at the University of Illinois, Taylor covered football and basketball recruitment for scout.com
She did internships for Fox sports as well as Comcast SportsNet Chicago and the PGA Tour.
At age 19, she covered the WBB Pre-NIT Championship on CBS Sports Network.

In 2014, Rooks joined the Big Ten Network as a reporter and on-air host on college sports as well as covering all women’s sports, with Lisa Byington on the Women’s Sports Report.
