Earleatha “Cookie” Johnson, née Kelly, was born on January 20, 1959, in Alabama, United States.
She was born to father Earl, after who she was named, and mother Cora.
The middle child of three children in her family, Cookie has a younger brother Harold and older sister Pat.

The family lived on Hollow Road in Huntsville, together with their extended family. This was made possible by her grandfather, who was a farmer who spent all his earnings buying land on which his big family could later live.
After spending the first six years of her life in Huntsville, Alabama, her family moved to Detroit, Michigan.

Marriage and Kids :

In September 1991, Cookie married Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson at the age of 32. Despite Magic’s fame & wealth, the couple had a small wedding ceremony in Lansing, Michigan.
Cookie & Magic went on to have two children. She has a son named Earvin III ‘EJ’ (born in 1992), and an adopted daughter named Elisa (adopted in 1994).
