Early Life and Career :
Amita Chandran is not someone who one can pass by on the street without marvelling over her beauty as well as her acting skills. The beautiful TV actress has won many hearts thanks to her performance in numerous serials. Her career as a model landed her into this industry.
It all started in her college days when she used to participate in the college fashion show and even won the epithet of Best Model. After this, the modelling offers were overflowing at her doorstep. At one such fashion shows, she was spotted by the director of show Kutumb who advised her to audition for the then popular show Kamal. There, she on the set of Kutumb she gave her audition and got two parts instead.
Personal Life :
Contrary to her shady characters in the serials she is quite reserved in real life. Her amiable nature has made her a favourite among her peers. Her friendship with Hiten and Gauri Tejwani, Narayani Shastri, Yash and Gauri Tonk is known.
When it comes to the matters of love, her affair with another TV actor Karan Patel was the talk of town especially when they participated in Nach Baliye 3 as a couple very much in love. But the affair became controversial because of their break up immediately after the show. Soon the rumors spread of their faking up the lovey-dovey act for TRPs. This obviously didn’t go down well with their fans. Karan also went on to say that, she never was and never could be his girlfriend. Later on February 24, 2014, she got hitched to an NRI in Mumbai. She remained silent on the subject of Karan.
Career, Job, Salary and Net Worth :
Her career only accelerated afterwards. She has moved on to play characters in the hit show Kasamh se, a cop in CID Special Bureau on Sony, Quayamat on DD, Kabhi Toh Milenge on Sahara One, Kya Hadsa Kya Haqeeqat on Sony, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kasturi. But though in these serials she received her fair share of appreciation, it was her role of Malini in popular Zee TV’s show Piya Ka Ghar that made her a star.
Reality Shows :
She also has been active when it comes to reality shows. She participated in dance show Nach Baliye 3 and saas-bahu dance competition SAAS vs BAHU. On playing numerous shady characters, she explains that grey characters provide much more scope to perform than regular characters.
She is quite happy being on TV where she has a larger audience and meatier roles. She follows the rule of taking up substantial roles, that is, not usual superficial ideal bahus. Her work area is not limited to just television as she also did a play called Da Dating Truths.
