Profile :This Punjabi lass didn’t take much time in becoming a favourite of all people. We are talking about the young and talented Sudeepa Singh, mostly known for her role in Punjabi movie Ek Noor.

Personal Life :

Born on 26th May 1988, she is a Sikh by religion. Amritsar, Punjab is her hometown. She was a topper in school and wanted to become IPS officer but later on, acting excited her more. She came to Mumbai to fulfil her dreams.

During her Antakshri auditions, Gajendra Singh advised her to compete in Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj. Being a shy person, she was hesitant initially, but the competition gave her the confidence boost she required.

Her skilful acting in Kabhie Toh Nazar Milao didn’t happen overnight. It was the result of research and hard work. Her pairing opposite Ajay Krishnamoorthi in Ardhangini came as a blessing for her. She got to learn acting nuances from him, especially in case of dialogue delivery.

Career :

This model/actress has appeared in many TV shows and films. Her TV presence is especially worth mentioning as she had appeared in over 800 ads in India and Pakistan. This is not common knowledge, but the actress had participated and won shows such as Antakshari 2004 and Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj (Third position).

After the contest, she got offers, but nothing worked out for a while. She took up modelling and endorsed brands, including Tide, Mentos, Big Bazaar, Teleshopping, etc. Finally, she received recognition with her role in film Ek Noor in 2011.

Film and TV Career :

Her acting in Kabhie Toh Nazar Milao of a blind girl received accolades. From there on her career gained momentum with another Punjabi movie Kabaddi once again in 2012. Her other works include films such as Yaara Naal Baharaan starring Bollywood actor Jimmy Shergill, in 2005 and Action replay in 2010.

On TV she did Ardhangini on Zee TV, involving trials of a beautiful girl; Ek Ladki Anjani Si, revolving around the concept of soul mates; Comedy Superstar in 2015 and later Sab TV’s Baal Veer. On Balveer, her role as Rani Pari is much liked and appreciated.

With such performances, it didn’t come as a surprise when in 2012 she won the PTC Punjabi Best Actress Critics Award for Ek Noor.
