After completing medical school, Dr. Chiu spent time at the Riverview Hospital of General Surgery in Detroit, where he finished his residency.

He then went on to the Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital where he became the General Surgery Department’s Chief Resident.
A year later, he moved to Pennsylvania, where he completed a fellowship at PCOM: Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in addition to working as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. In 2002, he was appointed Chief Fellow of the hospital.
During his time in Philadelphia, Chiu specialized in various types of plastic surgeries that included wound care and pediatric surgery.

He also trained incoming students at different medical campuses, including the St Mary’s Medical Center and the Hahnemann University Hospital.
After completing his training in Pennsylvania, Chiu decided to move back to California, where he landed a job working for his wife’s clinic in Beverly Hills.
