Dudley has competed in various archery competitions over the years, specializing in outdoor, indoor, field, and 3D targets. He was previously a member of the USA’s Archery men’s team.
He briefly owned his own private business but closed it after landing a job with Mathews Archery. For 9 years, he was part of the company’s international/national marketing and sales team.

In 2006, John founded another company called JDA International which he is still running to this day. JDA International works with various archery manufacturers such as Trophy Taker, Hoyt, Winners Choice, Arizona, Archery, Carter Enterprises and Easton.
