Ryan Sickler is a well-known stand-up comedian, writer, and producer who has appeared mostly on podcasts. He co-hosted the popular podcast The CrabFeast with Jay Larson which ran for over 9 years and 330 episodes.

Ryan Sickler was born on March 8, 1973, in Baltimore, Maryland. He has a fraternal twin brother, Derek, and a younger brother Todd.
When Ryan and Derek were four years old, the family moved out of the city into the suburbs so they could have some more space for their third child.
Ryan has mentioned in previous podcasts that he never got along with his mother. His mother preferred Ryan’s other two brothers and was emotionally and physically abusive towards Ryan.

Later, when his parents divorced, his mother told the judge in the custody hearing that she wanted custody of only Todd and Derek and did not want Ryan. The judge granted full custody of Ryan to his father then.
Ryan credits his father for him getting into comedy. Ryan was about 11 years old when he sneaked down at night to watch a movie that his dad was watching called Bustin Loose. Ryan got caught when he started laughing, and his dad told him to get in and watch it with him. That was Ryan’s introduction to comedy.
After his father’s death, Ryan had to live with his mother again until he was 18, at which point he moved in with his paternal grandmother in Baltimore County. He attended community college until his grandmother’s death in 1992.

Ryan started his career by working as a writer and producer for ABC Family channel in 1999 and worked there for five years.
He then held similar roles for Fine Living, E! Entertainment News, Fox Television, and OWN. He also took on the role of Senior Producer on the Comedy Central series, The Comedy Jam.

Sickler was also the Supervising Producer on Season 2 of Kevin Hart’s award-winning Donald Mac series and the Co-Executive Producer of the new E! Series, The Funny Dance Show.
Ryan along with his co-host Jay Larson started the CrabFeast podcast in 2009. The podcast featured guest comics, told stories and the duo steered the podcast towards being story-driven. The podcast was started at a time when there wasn’t much of a demand for a story-driven podcast, but it has been successful in creating a bigger audience for it over the years. In 2018, they announced that they would be ending the show because of their schedules and other commitments.
