Tristan also took part in the university overseas program and traveled to Berlin in 2004. He is also a 2006 Stanford Mayfield Fellow.

After graduating from university, Tristan worked at Apple as a software engineer in Hamburg, Germany, and Cupertino, California. He left Apple in October 2005.
Harries spent four months with Wikia as a Mayfield Fellow before co-founding Apture in July of 2007. He was CEO of the San Francisco-based company for around 4 years.

In April 2013, he began working as a product manager for Google before being promoted to design ethicist and product philosopher. While working for Google, he spent time in three different regions namely Mountain View, San Francisco, and New York.
Currently, Tristan works as an angel advisor and investor for the ProductBio team in addition to being an influential member of the Time Well Spent movement, which is aimed at helping global society overcome technology addictions.
