Shortly after graduating from Oxford University, Grace became a Management Consultant for KPMG’s Healthcare Practice and Public Sector.
She then worked in Manchester for the Institute of Public Policy Research North, focusing on the regional economical policy.
Blakeley then joined the Economic Justice Commission at IPPR a research fellow. Her speciality was in Macroeconomic Policy in particular, finance.

At IPPR, she also focused on various other areas besides Macroeconomic Policy that included Regional Economics & Financial Regulation.
Blakeley returned to IPPR in early 2019 to continue her work as the institution’s research fellow.
During her tenure at the IPPR, she has written several reports on various economic issues. These included pieces such as, ‘On Borrowed Time: Finance and the Uk’s Current Account Deficit,’ ‘Paying for our Progress: How the Northern Powerhouse can be Financed and Funded’ and ‘Fair Dues: Rebalancing Business Taxation in the UK.’

Besides being a research fellow, Grace is also a writer & appears on TV shows as an economic expert & analyst.
More recently, she had an opportunity to work with the New Statesman as their Economics Commentator. She is also a regular contributor for the New Statesman’s podcasts and website.
Grace is also a successful author in her own right and has worked on a book titled “Stolen: How Finance Took Control of our Economy and Corrupted our Politics” which she published with Repeater Books. She mentioned on her Twitter (now called X) page that the book will start selling in bookstores from September 2019.

Aside from her work with the Institute of Public Policy Research and the New Statesman, Grace is also a regular columnist for various other publications such as the Tribune and Jacobin.
Blakeley has also written several economics columns and issues for publications such as Novara Media and The Independent.
At Novara Media, she has her own personal column which she regularly contributes to.
