- The same year, she also became the Deputy Communications Director and Deputy Digital Director for Mayor Bill De Blasio’s election campaign and & again for his re-election campaign in 2017 where he served as the 109th mayor of New York City.
- In 2014, she became Deputy Press Secretary for Mayor Bill de Blasio’s administration in City Hall. As the senior spokesperson, Klein assisted the Press Secretary and Communications Director with all aspects of public outreach. Moreover, she managed communications for fifteen city agencies, including the Department of Correction, the NYPD, the Commission on Human Rights, and the FDNY.
- In 2016, Monica started off as the Regional Press Secretary for the Hilary Clinton election campaign in Ohio.
- In 2017, she co-founded a company called The Broad Room, which is essentially a ‘training camp’ for millennial women who want to take up a career for the progressive agendas.

- As the founding partner of Seneca Strategies, Klein helps create partnerships between stakeholders and advocacy groups, as well as building outreach initiatives. The firm was named after ‘Seneca Falls,’ the first-ever woman’s rights convention in the United States.
- Monica and Elana Leopold (the other co-founder of The Broad Room and Senaca Strategies) first met back in 2011 when they worked on Mayor Bill de Blasio’s election together.
- The pair’s first few clients at Senaca Strategies included Jessica Ramos, Liuba Grechen Shirley and Cynthia Nixon, who created a storm on Twitter (now called X) when she announced she would be running for governor against Andrew Cuomo.
